Me, I made a rotor-shaped picture frame. Though not actually for anything Wankel related.
No, actually, it was for a triangular-with-curved-sides picture.

Somewhere heinous like Ruth’s Chris with the fiance?

That’s amazing.

Nope. That was the worst part I was buying dinner because my sister got a new job and I thought I would be a good brother and buy her dinner (while my fiance was there too). We went to a casual asian place my sister likes and the food was way more expensive than I expected.

Got 90% of the way to clearancing my Spitfire chassis for a different gearbox mount (and moving the engine back 5/8") when I dropped a little patch into the last hole in the box section. Couldn’t get the damn thing out. Tried needle-nose pliers, little hooks made of scraps and even a sizeable magnet but no luck so I had to cut the box section open again ad re-do nearly the whole job again. Update coming on that soon though :)
Oh, and I bought another Spitfire!

Isn’t it, though? It’s not mine, my younger brother got it for himself in a splurge after he got done with paying taxes. It’s an actual honest to goodness canvas print that somebody spent the time pulling from the frames, sharpening up the loss on, correcting parellax, and compositing missing angle stuff on. Etsy.

Finally drank the Chimay blue that has been in the fridge for at least two years. It wasn’t corked or anything. Delicious. Made dinner for my wife and her friend, then got drunk with them and played Mario Kart Wii.

Oh man I need to watch some Farscape again!

Very nice. Is this going to be the mostly-stock Spit or do you have plans? I’ve been thinking at some point I’m going to get a two-door Falcon with the 144 thriftpower six and leave it stock other than maybe a bump to 170 power or a 200. This weekend wasn’t a total waste for the Ranchero - I did get my front bumper brackets corrected from having some holes wrong, and I finished welding up the front valance. Ah yes, and my friend has finally unpacked his tubing bender...

Saturday I helped my dad hang and setup my Aunt’s new Samsung 65" UHD TV. I started watching Truth in 24 on it. Glorious.
Sunday I had to move my sad old motorcycle back to storage from my buddy’s garage where I’d been attempting to do some work on it. Then rifle practice like every other Sunday.

I got hooked on Farscape in college, after it was off air (there were DVDs in the Georgia Tech library). I got my younger brother started on it after that. This is his painting from Etsy - he’s moving into a new apartment and getting married, so he decided he needed some decor. Heh.

Farscape!!!
That's awesome. :)

The funniest part is that my brother got this for decor in his new apartment and his fiance doesn’t even know about it. Nor has she even watched Farscape, yet. I may have to be loaning them my DVDs.

That’s more impressive than someone painting it.

Well, obviously somebody did paint the original for the show, so it’s got the right look. It’s pretty great that one can actually get this in professional grade canvas art print form.

Nice :) I do like the idea of a mostly stock I6 Falcon. I’ve recently read the AteUpWithMotor article on the Falcon and it’s a very cool story/design. You can really tell when a car is the brainchild of a single individual (Falcon, XJ saloon, OG Mini, 240Z). They’ve got a fantastic sense of purpose to their design which a lot of committee designs sort of lack...
Wasn’t there an ad posted on the FP about an Aus 4.1l OHC Ford I6 and attached 5-speed ‘box that I thought would go exceptionally well in a Mustang or early Falcon...
The little Spit will be my more basic one, although I was tempted to put the RV8 into it. Would definitely spiral out of control and end up identical to my PI Spitfire though so I’m keeping a bit of a tighter focus on this one.
It's ideal actually as it's already got rotoflex suspension fitted, saving me buying all the pieces. I'm hoping it's got GT6 fronts hardware as well, and if it's got CV axles I'll be ecstatic :) the bonnet's a bit janky as the chap cut a vent into it for the Rover V8 but I've got a fibreglass one waiting to be picked up. The 2.0l unleaded engine and 'box will get sold to recoup my losses and the RV8 will wend its way into an MGB GT at some point in its life :)

If you’re curious how one makes a frame for such a thing, it’s called ~$40 at the hardware and lumber stores for an eight foot trim 1x4, corner braces with screws, glue, furniture tacks, seal and finish in a tube, and some reinforcing edge material. Then, bending a steel rod to the right curve, using it as a cut line template for the band saw, using a protractor to put 30 degree lines on the ends of each section, then using the band saw, bench grinder, and a router bit to make the pieces. FYI, spruce 1x4 likes to splinter and shatter when being routed on a curve. BAD. Particularly if you’re using a drill press as a router table.

Heh. The other day I was trolling HondaBro and I used Moya as part of it. HB was asking which Enterprise was the best Enterprise and I kept posting photos of ships from other sci-fis, including Moya. Hehe. I need to watch it again.
